On the 16th September PhD candidates of the XXXVI cycle participated in a trip to Lazzareto Nuovo, in Venice, with the title: “Islands and socio-spatial segregation: quarantines, confinements, prisons”: an immersion in the lagoon environment that led our students to walk across the sandbanks, to analyse the geohistorical and anthropological values of the lagoon heritage, to meet with associations engaged in projects for the rebirth of the smaller islands and to reflect on the issues of island isolation.
